SDDP 17.1

New feature: Concentrated Solar Power

The global decarbonization target to control temperature increase and other climate-related events will require the adoption of different electricity production technologies, such as Concentrated Solar Power plants (CSP), that can be deployed in areas with high direct solar irradiance.

CSP uses a field of concentrating mirrors to reflect sunlight onto a receiver that heats a fluid stored in thermally insulated tanks. This fluid generates vapor to drive a turbine to produce electricity.

Optimal stochastic dispatch

SDDP represents CSPs generation, storage and heat transfer limits in hourly time steps. Solar irradiance scenarios can be imported directly or generated via Time Series Lab (TSL).
